Bob Clark, CIMA®, CFP®
Senior Vice President / Wealth Management Financial Advisor
Bob has extensive experience consulting with high net worth families in the areas of portfolio management, wealth transfer, business succession planning, charitable giving and estate planning strategies. He particularly enjoys working with family business owners, medical professionals, and corporate executives approaching retirement. Bob has been a financial advisor since 1993 and has been working in finance since completing his MBA in 1984.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
Bob earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation through the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. The CIMA® is sponsored by the Investment Management Consultants Association. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Bob assists clients in developing comprehensive wealth management strategies, including assistance with estate planning strategies, insurance evaluation, retirement planning, asset allocation and investment strategy. He was awarded the title of Executive Planning Consultant (EPC) after completing an extensive training course offered jointly by A.G. Edwards and the College for Financial Planning, focusing on the financial needs of corporate executives in the area of SEC rules and regulations that govern insiders, strategies concerning concentrated equity positions, stock options, restricted stock and taxation issues. Bob graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He earned an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Bob has served on a number of public and private boards and he consistently reflects a high level of professional achievement based on many factors. He served as President of the Rotary Club of Marblehead, Massachusetts. In his spare time, Bob enjoys traveling, skiing, golfing and road cycling. He resides in Marblehead with his wife and three children.
Bob is a Compass Portfolio Manager, providing custom portfolio management solutions to high net worth families and businesses. The Clark Group’s services are best suited for relationships with investment assets of $1 million and/or a total net worth of $2.5 million or more.
Jay Phillips CFP®
Jay has been a financial advisor since 2000 and has been in the financial services industry since 1992. He began his career at BayBank working with individuals and families before moving to the municipal finance division. He then spent over seven productive years at Merrill Lynch in Burlington, MA, before transitioning his business to Wells Fargo Advisors in Beverly, MA in 2006 and eventually forming The Clark Group with Bob Clark and Anne Marie Tobyne.
Jay has a particular passion for helping pre-retirees and retirees simplify the complexities associated with their transition into retirement. He specializes in the formulation of financial plans for clients and also focuses on the insurance and annuity needs of clients.
Jay earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®designation in 2003 by completing an approved educational program, passing a rigorous examination and meeting stringent experience requirements. Jay also adheres to a professional Code of Ethics and he fulfills annual continuing education requirements to remain aware of current planning strategies and financial trends. Jay earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Bentley University. Jay received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the Eisenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
Jay, his wife and their two sons live in North Reading, MA. He enjoys hockey, golf, skiing, and helping out with his son's local youth sports teams (hockey and soccer).
Anne Marie Tobyne
Registered Private Client Assistant
Anne Marie has been working in the financial services industry since 1995. She takes the time to help ensure our clients receive the personal attention they deserve. Her range of expertise includes resolving client inquiries, handling client communications, handling account documentation and disbursements and supporting our team’s back-office operations. She has completed the Series 7 and 66 exams and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Salem State University. She is held in high regard by our clients because she treats them like royalty and competently handles their financial affairs.
Anne Marie lives in South Hamilton with her son and daughter. She enjoys gardening, cooking, sailing and other outdoor activities.
Chief Investment Strategist
Mark is Janney’s Chief Investment Strategist, Mark is responsible for establishing the firm’s broad outlook relating to conditions in the capital markets and the economy and to develop investment strategies best suited to satisfy the goals and objectives of individual and institutional clients. He also establishes the firm’s asset allocation models used for portfolio construction and financial planning. Additionally, Mark directs Janney Capital Management, the firm’s discretionary investment management division. Mr. Luschini has spent more than twenty five years in the investment industry interfacing with both current and prospective clients. He utilizes that experience to speak on topics related to investment planning and asset management at seminars and conferences. His comments and articles have been circulated in numerous publications and he has appeared in various media outlets. He is a Trustee for Janney’s Pension & Profit Sharing Plan.
Guy LeBas, CFA®
Chief Fixed Income Strategist
Guy joined Janney in 2006 and is the Firm’s Chief Fixed Income Strategist. In this role, he works closely with Financial Consultants in providing customized investment strategies for a range of institutional and ultra-high-net-worth clients. Mr. LeBas authors in-depth economic and bond market periodicals and provides relative value recommendations across the fixed income spectrum. Named among Bloomberg’s Best Bond Forecasters in multiple categories in the recently released third quarter 2010 rankings, Mr. LeBas was ranked seventh in both the 2-year treasuries and 3-month Libor categories, based on the accuracy of predictions made over the past 15 quarters beginning in 2007. Mr. LeBas is one of a select group of forecasters to be recognized for his performance in multiple categories. He received his education from Swarthmore College and is a CFA Charterholder.
Mr. Drahuschak joined Janney in 1991. He has over 35 years of economic experience and provides daily, weekly and monthly market commentary to Janney and our clients. Prior to joining the Firm, he worked as a retail broker with—and eventually transitioned into the research departments of—Butcher & Singer and Wheat First Securities. He was also an instructor at Robert Morris College and the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Drahuschak has written articles for several newspapers and websites, and has been the visiting expert on many live radio broadcasts. He earned his B.A. in fine arts from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, as well as certificates from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and from the New York Institute of Finance.
Mike Repak, CPA/PFS, JD, LL
VP, Senior Estate Planner
Michael Repak is an attorney and a CPA/PFS who specializes in Estate and Tax Planning. He currently serves as a Senior Estate Planner with Janney’s High Net Worth Planning Group, part of the Firm’s Wealth Planning Department. He has over 25 years of professional experience and, prior to joining Janney, managed his own law practice in Yardley, PA which concentrated in the areas of elder law and estate planning. Mr. Repak has also served as a Senior Tax Manager with KPMG and Arthur Andersen and has been an adjunct professor with the MBA program at Temple University. Mr. Repak holds a JD from the University of Florida, a LLM from New York University and a Certificate in Estate Planning from Temple University. He has served on boards of several nonprofit and civic organizations and is a member of the Union League of Philadelphia.
